Culture shock..may be?

I guess I’m having a little culture shock.
This feeling drives me back to the nostalgic moment when I first traveled abroad and arrived in the United States.
New environment, new people, new culture, new challenges….everything is new & I gotta start from sketch.
This summer is going to be another new chapter in my life, I’m trying my best to step out from my comfort zone for the second time, make the most out of this opportunity that not many would have gotten, and make a difference in many ways.
The beginning of everything is always the hardest, & these ‘hard-ness’ is what makes life awesome, I believe so.

Day 1 in Oradea

My journey to Oradea was a long one, with lots of obstacles.
I reached Oradea at 11pm, the place where I will be staying for 6 weeks.
I’m grateful to have so many local AIESEC committees to come & pick me up at the station, there were 6 of them.
They made me eat their ‘custom-made bread with salt’ which is said to be a ‘tradition’ to welcome guest who arrives in Oradea.
But I found out later that the other trainees were not ‘welcomed’ in this way.
This makes me wonder if they were just making fun of me. Also, one of them handed me a piece of paper full with Romanian words.
He picked a long sentence and asked me to read it aloud. All of them were laughing as I was reading. But according to them, I did quite well with the pronunciation :)
My next challenge upon my arrival in Oradea was to climb the fence & get into my dorm. Anyway, they are all helpful and friendly people, we got to know each other, they helped me with my luggage and sent me back to the dorm. Here I am, Oradea.
